Installation

Install ThunderWave DJ
in about 2 minutes.

It's just copying files, no extra programs. Stuck on a step? Email us a photo of the screen and we'll help you install it.

1

Extract your purchase .zip

Right click the downloaded file → Extract All… Don't work from inside the .zip: Windows doesn't copy properly from there.

2

Open the VirtualDJ folder

In File Explorer type %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualDJ in the address bar and press Enter. If there's no Skins folder there, your VirtualDJ uses the older location: Documents\VirtualDJ. The right one has Skins and Plugins64 inside.

3

Copy the .zip files into Skins

Copy the interface .zip files without unzipping into Skins: your edition and the BASE, in the language you want (the ones ending in EN are English). MINI and KIDS come in two aspect ratios: copy (16x9) for a 16:9 screen and (16x10) for 16:10 or 3:2.

4

Pick the interface in VirtualDJ

Open VirtualDJ → Settings (gear) → Interface and pick your ThunderWave edition. If VirtualDJ was already open and you don't see it, close it and open it again.

PRODUCER LIVE only: the engines

Extract PRODUCER LIVE - MOTORES (ENGINES).zip and copy ThunderEngineA.dll, ThunderEngineB.dll and the TwProducerKits folder into VirtualDJ\Plugins64\SoundEffect (same VirtualDJ folder as step 2; create SoundEffect if it doesn't exist). If VirtualDJ was open, restart it. When updating, close it before copying.

If something goes wrong

It's almost always the folder: copy the .zip files to the other location (%LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualDJ\Skins or Documents\VirtualDJ\Skins) and restart VirtualDJ. Also check you copied the .zip and not an unzipped folder.

Put VirtualDJ in full screen and, if needed, turn on “Automatically hide the taskbar” in Windows. MINI and KIDS: use your screen's aspect ratio, (16x9) or (16x10).

The engines are missing: copy ThunderEngineA.dll, ThunderEngineB.dll and the TwProducerKits folder into Plugins64\SoundEffect (step below) and restart VirtualDJ.

It happens when updating: VirtualDJ has the engines open. Close VirtualDJ, copy the files and open it again.

Check it's the key from the same order (8 characters, 0–9 and A–F). If it still doesn't work, write to us with your order number.

Still not working? Email [email protected] with your order number and a photo of the screen.
